Connecticut State Parks Journeys: Hopeville Pond

Hopeville Pond State Park is certainly one to visit during the summer! While we did not go there to swim, there were lots of families enjoying the pond. It was an extremely hot day and we didn’t even get in a hike unfortunately.

Cute concession cabin that wasn’t opened when we were there. The swimming area is just beyond.
There are lots of little inlets to fish.

I imagine it’s a great lake to kayak or canoe. It took me two hours to get to the park so I combined the adventure with a visit to Buttonwood Farm ice cream stand and sunflower field. Highly recommend doing that and making a day of it!
