While not a hiking state park, Harkness Memorial State Park is one of the parks that had been at the top of my list of Connecticut parks to visit, simply because of it’s beauty. Right on the coast in Waterford, with an old mansion (it’s named Eolia), beautiful summer gardens and plenty of space to walk around, it’s a must see for anyone who wants to visit a state park and not do any strenuous hiking. It’s a place to admire nature, sit in peace and bring the camera.

This is a state park to absolutely visit in summer 🙂
