Settling in back home after a week in Charleston, South Carolina. It took us fifteen hours to get down there and home and how is it that a long road trip, where you are sitting most of the time, can be so exhausting?! At least all the time in between was amazing 🙂
I am going to write several blog posts about our road trip. This one will be a general overview but I’ll write more specific posts about my favorite locations/sites and what I wore.
We stayed at the Cottages on Charleston Harbor and I loved it. We had our own home but had the touches and details of a resort. I barely saw anyone else the entire time we were there even though I know they were fully booked. The location in Mount Pleasant was perfect. It was quiet, it was easy to get everywhere we wanted to go and cheaper than staying at an Airbnb in the immediate area.

We spent time bumming around Charleston, a day at Magnolia Plantation, time at Angel Oak Tree, Fort Sumter, Kiawah Island, Isle of Palms and Sullivan’s Island. We took a road trip out to Congaree National Park. An amazing trip! I booked food reservations using Resy and Open Table and only for restaurants with outdoor dining. I recommend booking them before you even go! Since we had kids with us and because of the pandemic I didn’t eat at the restaurants I would have wanted to otherwise. Makes for another trip some day. One where I would fly, lol.

My next blog will be about Magnolia Plantation and the beaches we went to!
