I love the combination of my faux leather leggings and over the knee boots and I put together four autumn outfits with the pair. As someone who is petite (5’3) I feel like the combo makes me look taller, elongating my legs. Plus it’s also a touch edgy and sexy, something I feel gets harder to accomplish as I get into my forties.

My faux leather leggings are from the brand BP at Nordstrom and I purchased them at the NSale summer 2020. They are no longer available but these similar iconNordstrom brand ones are highly rated as well.

My over the knee boots are from Anthropologie. I waited patiently for them to go on sale πŸ˜‰ They are also available at Nordstrom. iconMine are the warm gray suede color.

First up, with an oversized black sweater. I like the boot/legging combo sticking with the same color as the legging; only a little legging showing to keep it appropriate for running around with the kids.

Free People sweater (as similar icon as I can find), Coach bag (as similar icon as can find and wait for a sale)

This is a perfect combo to add in a denim top and a touch of florals with accessories, for me in the bag.

Top from Anthropologie a long time ago! A good denim top can last years. Bag is Rebecca Minkoff icon from a few years ago. Love this one.

Next up, a flannel top, keeping in the same color family and adding a contrasting texture to the faux leather.

Flannel is Rails from Nordstrom Rack, long gone but I love the colors of this one

Lastly, a work look. I wanted to add in a feminine touch and did that with the bow blouse. Added in a pop of color with the tote.

Blouse (exact one) icon and blazer (similar) from Nordstrom, bag from Amazon

Happy autumn!

Why I Jumped On The Over-The-Knee Boot Train

I attempted the over-the-knee boot trend two years ago and hated it. I felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman and not in a good way and quickly returned the boots. Now I think these type of boots have evolved in style, having different heights and shafts and improved comfort.

This year I am using my style as a pick-me-up for my mental health, and with the cooler weather coming I wanted a boot to keep in warmth, very practical, plus I think it looks cute.

Here are my current over-the-knee boot style ideas for skirts and dresses. I’ll add tights as it gets colder here in Connecticut. Be on the lookout for a future post with additional looks with jeans and leggings!

My boots are Kelsi Dagger from Anthropologie. I patiently waited until they were on sale. Also at Nordstrom iconif you prefer to shop there and save up those points πŸ™‚ (affiliate link)

Sweater is Chelsea 28 from Nordstrom, long gone but I also have two of these Chelsea 28 iconsweaters and love them (affiliate link), skirt from Anthro (sold out, it was on super sale)
Same skirt as above, cardigan from Stitch Fix (referral link)
Madewell sweater via Nordstrom (affiliate link), Target scarf, Express jean skirt
Sweater dress and hat from Anthro

Do you wear over-the-knee boots?
