Our last Connecticut State Park journey while the children were home from summer break was at Seth Low Pierrepont in Ridgefield. I was looking for a low key hike with the kids before heading back to school shopping and this park fit the bill.
We did not take full advantage of the park because of our time constraint, but I parked at the trail head where there is a boat launch so that our hike would mostly be along the lake. The kids and I joked because we wouldn’t necessarily call this a hike, more like a walk along an uneven path. Very kid friendly and easy but would not work for strollers :)

Our path: as you can see, we weren’t there very long-

I’m blocking off some afternoons and weekends to hike more parks this autumn, my favorite time to hike! I am finding I have to add hikes to the calendar so I am reminded how important these times are for us. My oldest is a senior this year and his last full school year to come along on our Connecticut State Park journeys!
