What to wear in New York City?! That’s always a good question. I dress heavily dependent on the weather and footwear is of utmost importance in my opinion. When planning I start from the bottom up.

The first outfit was for a Friday evening and I knew I didn’t have to walk more than ten minutes so I opted for some comfortable sandals. The rest of the weekend I wore sneakers and I’m glad I did because sore feet only hurt you. As for the hair, I knew it was going to be hot so I opted to straighten my hair the day we left and not wash it the entire weekend. It worked out well not having to fuss too much with my hair in the heat.

As for packing bags, I used a leather duffle/weekend bag and a vintage train case for my toiletries. I had two purses for the weekend, the smaller one fit in my duffle bag (Similar icon), along with the two other shoes I brought.

Simple!

Outfit for a nice dinner out: jean jacket from Stitch Fix, dress is English Factory from Nordstrom (Similar style icon) (Similar color icon) (similar style on ShopBop), sandals are Sam Edelman from Nordstrom Rack, purse is Rebecca Minkoff (Similar style icon).

Outfit for brunch and walking around the city on a hot day: dress is English Factory from ShopBop, Vans shoes (with arch supports in them!), Rebecca Minkoff bag, sunglasses from Target.

Outfit for a baseball game: t-shirt from an Etsy shop, comfortable skirt from Stitch Fix, hat I bought at the game, sneakers are thrifted New Balance.

Outfit for a bit of walking in the city and drive home: super comfortable dress is from Evereve, thrifted New Balance sneakers.

What would you wear for a day in the city?
