It’s still cool and rainy in Connecticut, but I can smell summer from here! My pool is getting opened in approximately two weeks and thus begins the season of bracing for bare skin. Here’s what I’m seeing as trends for summer 2023:
Crochet Styles
It may be festival season speaking but my favorite summer trend of 2023 is crochet. It may also be my strong sense of nostalgic feelings lately too, but these styles are making me happy. Style should make you feel happy :)
Ethereal and Airy Styles
I’ve been a fan of tulle for years and it is becoming more popular. This trend ties in with crochet styles; think of a feminine and air flowing vibe. My outfit below was on a cooler day, but for a warmer day, mesh and open weave dresses, tops, even pants, are the look. This also ties into the balletcore trend I talked about for spring.
The top to the right above, the blue one from Free People, is also a trend, tube tops. Hello 70s!
Picnic
Let’s go on a picnic! I’m loving gingham, basket bags and the picnic aesthetic. A summer picnic date night sounds heavenly. I recently wore a gingham midi dress at Magic Kingdom at Disney and loved how I felt in it.
