I’ve been writing more poetry a lot lately, like I did back in April for National Poetry Month. I find it to be a rewarding habit! I am mindful of how I spend my time. By adding more downtime, I find inspiration in all sorts of places. Here is one of my latest poems, Perimenopause Witch.

The magic arrives slowly,
To the girl who lost her voice.
Muffled down to size,
Owing to tender sensibilities.
An empathetic rainbow heart,
Lost under forever tears.
Enchantment by the sea,
Incantations to the moon.
Years charmed by the earth,
Returns a nurturing purpose.
Her fate opens the window,
Energy blazes in.
Potions begin to brew,
Brooms sweep the porch.
Songs inside generate a glow,
Her magic aura delights.
Graying years were patient,
Now strength brims within.
