Western style boots have been slowly becoming more and more popular the last two years or so, and I believe they are at their height this autumn. I’ve had a shorter pair for a couple of seasons now and bought a taller knee high pair this summer during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. I love them! A bit pricey but in my opinion boots are something to spend more on; their comfort makes it worth it. Here is how to wear your western knee high boots this autumn.

Western Knee High Boot Styles
Casual With Skirts and Dresses
The first outfit to share is one you have seen before, in my blog post about my Halloween sweater (see that here). I love knee high boots with a skirt or dress that hits right around the top of the boot. This is a great fall outfit for autumn gatherings. These are the boots I have. I chose these ones because I love the lighter color, it’ll match a lot in my closet, and the western pattern is subtle. I didn’t want the pattern in the boot to be too distracting, allowing for the boots to match with many more outfits.
I’ve been seeing more and more denim dresses lately and found this one below at Goodwill. It is such a versatile piece. Great for layering; I’ll add tights when it gets colder out. This was an outfit I wore for a day of Mom on-the-go.

Casual With Leggings
My thicker leggings I recently purchased from Nordstrom have been a favorite on cooler days this autumn (tap here for link). I tried this outfit with two different lighter coats and two hats, giving the combination a few options. Just like the outfit above with the denim dress, I like pairing these boots with a jacket of a similar color. The bomber jacket on the right has a slightly heavier weight to it than my jean jacket, better for colder days.
More Formal/Business
The dress outfit below was for a warmer autumn day (like upper 60s). I love that the warm florals match the color of my boot. Pairing these boots with any autumn dress works well! I’ll be adding tights and a jacket (like a jean jacket) for a cooler day. This just might be what I wear on Thanksgiving this year ;)
The outfit below is casual but can be made more formal by not wearing a hat and wearing a blazer instead of a jean jacket. I have a couple of mini skirts for autumn and they all look good with these boots.
Hope these outfits inspired you!
