This title sounds like a conundrum, but I assure you it is not! Being somewhere that tends to be crowded and loud and overstimulating makes it necessary to create time for recentering and decompressing and finding the quiet places. Short of going back to your hotel, which is also a viable plan, places to quiet down a moment do exist at Disney World. As a Disney loving adult and someone who frequents Disney as often as I can, I’d like to share with you areas of the parks where you can find respite amongst the chaos.
Of course the time of year you go and what the crowds look like can influence my suggestions. But these spots have been calm even when I’ve gone at peak crowd times. My apologies ahead of time if you find the locations to be bustling. Here are the quiet places in Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
Magic Kingdom Park

As you walk down Main St, facing the castle, just after the Uptown Jewelers shop and just before the Crystal Arts shop, there is an alleyway with not a lot going on. Sometimes there are carts in the alley, closer to Main St, and there are several tables with umbrellas down the end of the alley. While the parade was going on, one of my autistic kids didn’t like all the noise so we went down this alley to get away from the crowd. I was shocked how quiet it was. Now it’s one of my hiding spots.

Magic Kingdom has a second location, though not as quiet as the alleyway. To the right of Be Our Guest restaurant, by Gaston’s Tavern, there’s a quieter spot to sit. I’ve never had to wait for those restrooms and we usually find seating to have a good snack in this spot. Lafou’s brew from the tavern is my absolute favorite drink at Magic Kingdom!

Animal Kingdom Park
In Animal Kingdom the quiet place consists of a walkway. It’s the path walking from Pandora over to Africa, coming up along the theater for The Lion King show. One time the path was closed off, not sure why, but usually it’s open and there is no one else around. There’s even a restroom towards the end by the theater. The walk is quiet and relaxing and you can take your time bird watching as you stroll by the water.

Epcot
I have been finding Epcot to be harder to find a quiet spot, it’s been changing a bit too much the last couple of years! I’m hoping as the construction ends I’ll be able to find quieter spots.

My favorite quiet spot as of 2023, is in the back corner of United Kingdom. The gardens are gorgeous, even when a princess or Mary Poppins or Winnie the Pooh is out, it’s still generally quiet. I love going to this area during the Flower & Garden time. Update for summer 2025, this area was extremely quiet!

Epcot has a bonus quiet place if you are Disney Vacation Club members. The DVC lounge is one of my favorite chill spots in Epcot. I love to sit in there and just look up ~

Hollywood Studios
In Hollywood Studios, the dead end alley by the main entrance to Toy Story Land, where Joffrey’s is (and a restroom), tends to be a quieter area. Great place for momma to get a coffee and snack and chill for a bit. One side is the back of Toy Story Mania and one side is the back of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, which means this nook likely won’t be changing anytime soon. There is even some sitting in the shade!

Update summer 2025, the area above was generally quiet, but there was a character encounter there one morning. Then that evening the entire area was blocked off! A large wall/gate prevented you from entering the alleyway.
What do you think? Have you been to these quiet spots or do you have others you’d suggest?
