I love as we head into the end of spring and beginning of summer. Shedding the extra layers of clothes and feeling light and free, the best! Summer trends for 2025 are just a bit of an addition to spring trends for 2025 (my blog post here). Let’s dive in!

East Coast Aesthetic
The East Coast vibe is strong this year! In my spring trends post I wrote about boat shoes and Nantucket vibes. This is the same thing, but adding a few more ways to make it ready for summer. Think linen, stripes, lobsters, hydrangeas, buckles, straw bags and a fisherman aesthetic. It’s giving 90’s American flag sweater vibes.
Here is how I’m wearing the East Coast trend:
I found the sailor style shorts at T.J.Maxx and love them. My newer Sam Edelman sandals are a fancy version of Tevas. I decorated my porch with a hydrangea theme for spring and summer.
Contemporary Romance
I wrote in 2023 (see here) about ethereal and airy styles and contemporary romance is a bit like that. This modern boho aesthetic revolves around sheer clothes, lace and even cowgirl vibes. Contemporary romance was the overall vibe of spring festival season.
Here is how I’m wearing this contemporary romance trend:
Sporty Chic
The last couple of years we had sporty styles morph from tennis core into pickle ball aesthetic and more. We started wearing more types of sneakers and now sandals are getting a sporty chic makeover, like my Sam Edelman sandals above. I love this trend for travel! I wore sporty styles last year at Disney and on a few other trips to warm destinations. The materials of sport wear are easy to pack, don’t wrinkle and keep you cool when it’s hot.
Here is how I’m wearing the sporty chic trend this year:
This was in Puerto Rico in March. This Zella dress was my favorite thing to wear that trip!
Micro Trends
Some micro trends for summer 2025 include matching sets. Gingham is still going strong, just as it has been the last two years. Longer shorts are also trending, think Bermuda style shorts. I recently bought this matching set below and love its versatility. I can wear the top or skirt with many other things in my closet.
Now I just need to get that pool opened! Here is the link to my Summer Outfits Pinterest board for more inspiration. I’ll be adding to it a lot!
