Five Spring Trends

Always looking ahead here! I’m not a winter fan, come February and March I’m eager for spring and fun new warmer weather trends. Here are five spring trends my brain is wandering around:

Wide Shoulders

There are some new wide shoulder trends I hate. For example, here~ Women’s Topshop Shoulder Pad Rib Tank (affiliate link). When it’s warm out I do not need the added warmth of a shoulder pad, no thank you. This is more like it:

Wide shoulders on a sweater vest I’m all for!
Vest from Amazon, white blouse from Target, jeans from Social Threads, loafers are Women’s Dr. Scholls Mercury Loafer (affiliate link)
Wide shoulders on a spring/summer dress, love it! To come, a blog post about styling this dress. This one is only $12 from Target online. Shoes are Keds from ModCloth

Wide Pants and Jeans

All wideness going on here! Too funny, but practical coming out of a pandemic I guess. In my working days I regularly wore both black and navy wide leg pants, for comfort and ease of moving and they can be layered with leggings underneath for cold days. My new favorite wide leg jeans are from Ann Taylor below. Ann Taylor Onseam Pocket High Rise Wide Leg Jeans in Pure Light Indigo Wash (affiliate link).

Same vest and blouse from above, pants from Nordstrom, Vejas sneakers
In love with these jeans! So far I only like them with flats, maybe a low cut sneaker and eventually sandals for sure. Jacket is old from Target, flats are J.Crew.

Bike Shorts

Now we go in the other direction with tightness. I have a couple of bike shorts from ModCloth that I’ve worn under my dresses for years. This year we are talking colors and prints and textures. The new lounge wear for spring and summer to replace your joggers and sweatpants.

Love these ones from Shopbop, not the price though! I recently bought these from Nordstrom and love them (affiliate link) ~ Women’s 4Th & Reckless Ada Rib Knit Bike Shorts

I’ll be writing a blog post about these shorts in the near future. T is from Amazon, Addias sneakers

Chunky Necklaces

I like this trend for this year because I’m a lover of a simple white t-shirt. Add a chunky necklace and you instantly looked pulled together, even if you are wearing leggings or jogging pants. In love with this one from Shopbop and this one from Anthropologie. Budget wise it doesn’t make sense for me. I went with the wooden one below from Stitch Fix. I also love this one from Target.

Fuzzy Lined Sandals

Updated house shoes for us all! I love all these, still on the hunt for a reasonably priced cute pair. I don’t see this trend lasting years so I’m not willing to fork over a ton of money. I can picture wearing these with the Ann Taylor jeans above or with a spring maxi dress, even leggings. When I can picture several ways to wear something with my existing closet then I know the item is a keeper.

These are the hot contender I may give a try (affiliate link): Women’s Lisa Vicky Olla Faux Fur Slide Sandal- Brown

Bonus Extra Fun Style:Modern Bridgerton Styles

This might be one not exactly practical for our everyday lives but hey, you only live once and with a pandemic no one cares if you are sitting at home looking all pretty in your fancy smock. I have a vintage dress I bought at the thrift store a couple of years ago that I am dying to resize for me and wear. It was too beautiful to pass up even though it was too big for me. I have my 20th anniversary this year and am planning to wear it for a fun photo shoot.

Here are some modern Bridgerton styles:

Do any of these trends appeal to you?
